My Journey Through these 6 Days of Content Workshop:
Never too late…and it was worth the wait !
It was 2011, a little after my father left for Eternity. I was working as the Cultural Coordinator to the French Director at Alliance Française of Hyderabad. Apart from collaborating on Indo-French cultural relations, I would be given to translate a lot of french journals to english. It seemed like a lot of fun ! And gave me a happy feeling !
Fast forward to 2017, when I became a freelance Soft-skills Trainer and founded www.kindredsouls.in , creating flyers, invites for my training sessions/workshops , write-ups for the PPTs gave me a new high ! I subconsciously realised that there is an entire new world I could venture upon.
The moment I saw the content vidya flyer on facebook, I knew exactly what I was looking for !
Day 1 was really interesting. Knowing what content is, types & styles of content, I was thrilled to learn about “Headline Analyzer” and how powerful it could actually
be !
Day 2 was actually a continuation of Day 1 on how to develop content using strategies, images and hyperlinks.
My first challenge was to overcome “writer’s block”. I pondered for some time & then came up with a critical topic of Arctic Warming.
Day 3 taught us how to associate copywriting with story telling. As a trainer, I always harped on stories and love to tell them. So this assignment was rather easy to venture with a day 4 break in between .
Day 5 was about niche blogging. Blogging has always intrigued as well as intimidated me . But a second thrilling moment arrived when we learnt to analyse our interests, experiences, expertise to delve deeper into our niches. The assignment was worth it !
Day 6 , our final day was mainly focused on our prospects as content-writers/bloggers in today’s world .
We all know how social media dominates every aspect of our lives, personal as well as professional.
As a trainer and coach, I have had prior work exposure with linked-in and facebook. Posting my profile on linked-in gave me prospective clients and move ahead in my journey as a Trainer in life-skills and soft-skills. Facebook gave me recognition and appreciation I have long awaited for !
As a newbie content-writer/blogger, I am as optimistic as I was as a newbie trainer.
Infact, the challenges were more earlier ; leaving a three year old girl at a daycare day after day , travelling through Colaba & Andheri to meet clients were far more overwhelming than sitting in a cosy corner of your home and learning something entirely new in only .. 6 days !
